About Alberta Pond Hockey
Hockey was born and raised on the frozen ponds, lakes, dugouts and rivers of Canada. Outdoors in the crisp winter air, no red or blue lines, no face-off circles, in the open and just for fun. The Alberta Pond Hockey Championship will tip its hat to the days when hockey was played the way nature intended it.
Lac Cardinal Provincial Park, located between Peace River and Grimshaw, provides a picturesque setting. Besides offering some “good old hockey games” the tournament will also offer a range of events for the whole family to enjoy. A feeling of nostalgia is sure to be in the air and on the ice. Join us as we step back in time to when hockey was played on ice that may have been slushy or cracked, but where the fun of the game was all that mattered.
